| The Famous French Girl by Drew Searing |
||||
There once lived a French girl who wanted her whole life to be famous. She tried to excel in school so she could perhaps become a famous scientist or a renowned college professor. She would bring gifts to the priests and nuns so she might become a famous Cardinal, or maybe even the Pope. When the girl played soccer, she dreamed of becoming a famous Olympic athlete. When it became time for the girl to date, she looked for a suitor who was good-looking, smart, and rich. This way, they would become a famous couple or, if they broke up, she would be considered a famous Doña Juana. She lived her whole life thusly, trying at every turn of events to become famous. In the end, when she died, she became famous for always wishing to be famous. This is not what she wanted to be famous for. Her epitaph read, simply, “Famous.” |
